aaarrrggggg!!! It’s not going away til it does, take a very deep breath, cut some favorite cheese, pour some vin and sit back and think how lucky you are not to be dealing w/what we have going on in the good ole USA…..😔and say a little prayer that the powers that be act on getting you that magic card…🤞🏻. b

Oh mon Dieu, quelle saga! Dieu, merci pour Penny!! I certainly hope that with her expertise that everything goes through without too much additional hassle. I am wondering if it is possible that a “Current” Carte Vitale may be issued from the Carcassonne office and that any retroactive benefits would have to come from the Paris office. Just my musing on the already horribly complicated matter. How are you and the girls holding up in the current vague de chaleur? It is horribly hot here in the States also. 98 degrees in St. Louis today (has been that way all week, and no end in sight). Our humidity matches the temps almost to the degree which is what makes it so oppressive; like trying to breathe through a wet sponge. (Our weather is water-boarding all of us.) Our heat index today is 109, just lovely. At least we had a thunderstorm and some much needed rain last night, I know the dryness is always a huge problem for you. I hope that no more fires get “accidentally” started. Keep your chin up, and I hope that one day soon you will receive that precious Carte Vitale in the mail, and it will have retroactive benefits. A bientôt. Cherie

109 yikes! It hit 100 here yesterday but of course the dryness makes it tolerable. I'm doing the shutters-closed-during-the-day way and it makes a huge difference. SO far so good on the fires, and rain expected tonight...though it will probably be the usual 4 drops lol

Your “Report” of the duel processes gave me the chills snuffing out my occasional dreams of living and experiencing another country. I have the fortitude, but not the desire at my age for the quagmire of paperwork, language barrier nor confusion. You are much braver that I. Hang in there. Just think you are climbing these steps one at a time and will soon have your medical card. Hopefully retroactive. Have a great rest of your day. I need to sleep. Company coming. Needed to open windows for 69 degree cool breeze to clear out my house. Too hot in the house to sleep. Dog is really confused.

Oh I don't want to snuff anything out!! And truly, I am completely glad I made the move, even if the paperwork is more horrible than I imagined. Not really brave, more foolhardy! Wishing you and dog cool breezes....

Actually just stayed awake and enjoyed the cool house, did last minutes chores, then enjoyed dawn and all it’s variety of colors.
